Our commitment
This website is built for people who may be managing movement side effects, anxiety or fatigue. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA, the standard referenced by the Australian Government, and we treat accessibility as a requirement for every page rather than a later fix.
What we have done
- Reduced motion is respected. If your device asks for less motion, animations are removed or reduced and every piece of content is still available.
- Tap targets are at least 44 pixels, so links and buttons are easier to use with shaky hands.
- Body text is never smaller than 16 pixels, and text meets contrast guidelines.
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
- Pages use real headings, landmarks and labelled controls, so screen readers can navigate them.
- All content is in the page itself, so it works even if JavaScript is turned off.
- Videos are decorative, silent and never carry information that is not also in text.
- We write in plain English and explain clinical terms in everyday words first.
Known limitations
Some images of the EPSpeak app are illustrations of the interface rather than full descriptions of every screen. Where an image carries meaning, the same information is in the text around it. If you find something we have missed, please tell us.
