The content on this website and in the EPSpeak app is general information. It is written to help you understand medication side effects and to prepare for conversations with your health professionals. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, and it does not take your personal circumstances into account.

Not a medical device

EPSpeak is a self-monitoring and health information tool. It is not a medical device and is not included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it cannot tell you whether a medicine is causing a symptom. Only a doctor can make that judgement.

Never change a medication on your own

Nothing on this website or in the app is an instruction to start, stop or change a medication. Stopping or changing a medicine suddenly can bring back the symptoms it was prescribed for or cause other effects. Always talk to your prescriber first.

Scores and side effect profiles

The voice-change score in EPSpeak compares your recordings with your own earlier recordings. It is not a clinical judgement and does not name or rate any condition. Medication side effect profiles describe how a medicine affects many people on average in published research. They are not a measurement of you.

In an emergency
